The Philosophy of Driving — Why people drive the way they do, and what makes them buy a specific car

Cars are all around, but that is to question, why do people have the car they drive? Is it because they are content with it? Or do they honestly like what they have? In this article, I will go into depth onto MY particular philosophy of driving, and why I prefer some classes of vehicles in contrast to others.

The “Type”

There are people that drive either SUVs, the new “crossovers” (which are semi-blend of a SUV and compact car) trucks, sedans, and smaller 2 door coupes. SUVs are practical in the sense that you can carry extra people, or children, and can be more safer in collisions. However, is this always the case? Not always. As for trucks, its relatively simple: towing or hauling materials around. They have established platforms for a variety of work, whether it be to carry a 3-car trailer around, trailer a small camper, or heavy duty construction.

Sedans almost have somewhat similar premise to the SUV, however they are lighter, more agile, and more aerodyanmic than SUVs and trucks. You have your regular base economy models, up to the luxury trim specs. Not to forget to mention you have slightly better visibility as well in grand contrast to a truck or SUV, where your perspective is tainted by the general height.

Lastly we have the 2 door coupes. They are practial for drivers who don’t carry for an extended wheelbase, and only ideally see themselves and one other passenger in the car most of the time. Depending on the car, they are also more lighter to their sedan counterparts. From regular base models, up to luxury trims, we seen them all over the last century to now.
